Daily Rant-Healthcare Spending Pork Filled Bills and My 401K

Published by janepublic at 2:27 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Obama has decided that we need to focus on Healthcare right now.  He has his team assembled, his goals established, and a highly publicized meeting with all interested parties took place yesterday.  He wants to tell us that healthcare is as tied to our survival as the stock market is.  He says that if we don’t fix healthcare right now more people are going to go bankrupt.

Hello Mr. Obama you are so out of touch with the average American.  Yes there are those that will go bankrupt with healthcare costs this year.  My parents did about 25 years ago.  A lot of people do and we should attempt to do something about this.  But please focus on the issue at hand right now.  We are having a heart attack and you are caring for the cancer!

I just checked my IRA.  I own a company and have had to contribute every single dime of what’s in there.  I looked at my March 2008 statement to see what I had just 12 short months ago.  Then I looked at my March 2009 statement.  It has lost 52% of its value.  My losses are starting to chop into the amounts I have put in there.  I am NOT the only one in this position.

So please Mr. President get a clue!  Stop the spending, find the shovel ready projects, and put Americans back to work.  Consumer spending is 2/3rds of GDP.  I am sure you took Economics 101 and can see where I am headed with this!

The only good thing coming out of this crisis is that the average American, like myself, is suddenly paying attention to what congress is doing and spending our money on.  It’s a horrible way to have to learn a lesson, but I think we all have.  It is time to flood our Representatives with phone calls, letters, and emails and demand they stop the BS.  The rules have changed for us underlings, and the rules need to change for these guys too!
